In Adams’s own words, from the 1817 Dictionary. Each passage is quoted verbatim under its own entry.
BARLAAMITES, a denomination in the sixteenth century, followers of Barlaam, a Neapolitan monk, who was called a heretic for asserting that the light, which surrounded Christ on Mount Tabor, was not an emanation of the divine essence.
